  1. Nobody should care what RBG’s “final wish” was. She didn’t own the position. It is owned by the American people through the Constitutional process. It needs to be filled by the lawful execution of Constitutional powers. Which means nominated by the sitting POTUS, and the advice and consent of the Senate. If the Senate doesn’t want to take it up, that’s a legitimate exercise of the separation of powers. It prevents a POTUS of a party that doesn’t control the Senate from appointing justices. That was the way the system was designed.
