I guess we’ve grown numb to this national crisis. For more than 40 years our wonderful congresscritters have pontificated on both the foreign causes and the appropriate domestic response: and yet here we are.
I guess (also) that I’m of two minds on this entire ‘immigration’ conundrum. The nationalist* in me demands they use ‘the broken system’ while my humanitarian side would like to bomb the fuck out of the governing bodies in multiple Latin American nations for the hopelessness they’ve created for their own populations.
I’m concerned about the tremendous cost to support these multi-millions of new Americans, it’s apparent to me that it is now impossible to ship them back to their nation of origin. It’s bad, bad, bad right now and about to get a whole lot worse.
*Somehow ‘nationalism’ has fallen from favor: how long can such a sentiment continue before the nation itself falls?
