The Awkward Truth

243 years ago this evening Pre-POTUS #1 sets out across the Delaware river to attack the Hessian (German mercenaries) encamped at Trenton.
After months of losses the future of the American Revolution was very much in doubt until Washington, with this daring assault, revived the spirits of our countrymen.
I can only imagine the hell that these patriots faced as the fought the weather, river, and well trained enemy on that night so long ago. I’d venture to guess that there was not a single ‘democratic socialist’ among them !
Breitbart is carrying the story about the trio of lunitics (AOC, Bernie, and Cornel West) and their traveling circus. Full story is here.
AOC says: “We can’t go back to the way things were before, because the way thing were before is how we got to where we are now. ” You really can’t make this stuff up folks
“Establishing a loving society in the United States of America” isn’t an “irrational, overly feeling, sympathetic statement,” Ocasio-Cortez said. Instead, it’s part of an ongoing mission to achieve “an advanced society,” she argued, citing past remarks by Harvard University professor and fellow Sanders surrogate Cornel West.
God help us all.
A photo taken before the full meaning of the Reich was understood. Looking back we can see what the photographer could not imagine. He (she?) saw the Menorah as a symbol of hope, maybe even defiance. When the crushing weight of the hate fell on the Jewish race in Europe a scene such as this, staged or otherwise, was no longer heroic, it meant sure death..
I wonder when the next such moment will be. Surely it cannot be as long as free men are informed and armed. But what if those arms are lost (freely given or taken), what symbols will sit in an awkward juxtaposition then?
Well, after three consecutive days of unending rain, it’s finally stopped. The sun is still not out, but I’ll take slowly clearing sky as a sign of better things to come.
The ground is well beyond being saturated and I expect that we’ll have several trees toppled over from last nights winds. Unless they fall on the road or across a fence they can wait until this spring to be cleared. I put hay out for the cattle yesterday and had to carefully pick my way across the pasture, avoiding low areas, to keep from chewing up he wet fields.
The rain also kept me from putting my garlic into the soil. I really wanted to get the garlic planted yesterday (22nd) to align their planting with an old almanac’s suggestion that it should be planted on the shortest day of the year (winter solstice) and harvested on the longest day of the year (summer solstice). Given that the winter solstice is actually pretty close to three days long (three days of equal length from the 22 through the 24, give or take a minute or two), I guess that I’ll still be doing right by the old wives tale if the soil is dry enough by tomorrow to plant.
Last year I planted the cloves on the end sections of several of the planting boxes; this year I’ll put them all in the same 4 X 12 foot box.
I spend more time contemplating God, His Spirit, and the meaning of Christ during this three day period than I do all year long. I can understand the reason the old timers moved the celebration of Christs birth to the winter solstice (although I believe they missed the mark symbolically).
A few weeks ago I mentioned the 50th Saying. It has a lot to do with light. Closely related to it, and also on the subject of light, is the 83rd Saying in the Gospel of Thomas. It goes:
Blatz:
Jesus said: The images are revealed to man, and the light which is in them is hidden in the image of the light of the Father. He will reveal himself, and his image is hidden by his light.
Layton:
Jesus said, “Images are visible to human beings. And the light within these (images) is hidden by the image of the father’s light; it will be disclosed. And his image is hidden by his light
Doressee:
Jesus says: “Images are visible to man, but the light which is in them is hidden. In the image of the light of the Father, it will be revealed, and his image will be veiled by his light.”
As you can see there are subtle differences between the way the verse is translated. These differences can significantly change what the verse imparts. Given that life is a mystery, I see no reason that these saying, despite being seemingly simple, should be any different!
As with all of the sayings within this gospel, there is a website (here) that lends many ‘expert’ voices to what they saying may mean. The most esoteric on this site was offered by Gerd Ludemann, he says:
“The logion defines the relationship between image, light and Father. Cf. Gospel of Philip 67: ‘The truth did not come naked into the world, but came in types and images. It (= the world) will not (be able to) receive it otherwise.’
An old (October 2017) article from Huffpuss shows that their outrage is not a new phenomenon. I feel sorry for all of the electrons that were harmed in producing this blather.
When it comes to the 1st amendment, 2nd amendment, 4th amendment, the left calls them old world relics that belong to a forgotten time. They are now a danger to our country! However, whatever shit there might be in there about us getting rid of Orange Man, that’s important stuff….sacred I tell you!
I don’t know how these fucking idiots are able to rationalize impeachment because they can read Trumps mind and know he was thinking sinister thoughts, just the way they imagine what the founders may have thought (vice what they put on paper) because it justifies their unconstitutional act.
If this shit stands, our nation is not only destined to the ash heap of history, it will belong there.
Where the hell did that old guy come from? !
If those knuckleheads start rolling out of California, we could all be hosed.
How many democrats are thinking of Yamamoto’s words right now? They do know that they are dealing with a ‘counter-puncher’ don’t they?
What would our founders have thought were they to know this piece of shit stands as third in line to the Presidency?
What would they think of us as citizens? That we would allow the corruptions, lies, manipulations, and sheer power grabs to not only continue, but also enable them to prevail across the entire body politic would certainly be strange to them.
And what of those many thousands that laid down their lives to create a new nation committed to liberty and the freedom of its citizens? What would be their thoughts if they knew just how far (and quickly) we have fallen?
Will the fife and drum sound again? Will patriots answer the call and rise again or have the forces of darkness and evil so demoralized our citizenry that the tide of tyranny overwhelms mans last best hope for freedom.
Strange times folks !
The Babylon Bee has scooped the rest of the news industry and is reporting that “Santa Claus Accused Of Quid Pro Quo For Giving Children Gifts In Exchange For Good Behavior”
U.S.—Legislators have begun to hold hearings on impeaching Santa Claus after an overheard conversation seemed to imply he was offering a quid pro quo: gifts in exchange for good behavior.
FBI agents spied on Claus at various malls as he repeatedly said things like, “Sure, I’ll get you a pony. But first, I need you to do something for me… be a good little boy!” The FBI was able to obtain a FISA warrant to spy on Claus, because it’s easier to get a FISA warrant than to get a Costco membership.
“Ho ho noooooo!” Santa Claus cried as investigators leaped out and cuffed him at a Dayton, OH mall. “Not good! Sad!”
“It was a perfect conversation,” Claus said, defending himself in a series of fiery tweets. “Absolutely perfect. I was simply talking to little Billy and asked him to keep tabs on his sister, Sally, who has been involved in some corruption. Who doesn’t want to stop corruption? Did I offer Billy a new Nintendo Switch in exchange for his good behavior? Possibly. Am I planning on giving Sally coal because she’s a little punk? Maybe. Where’s my lawyer?”
Unfortunately, he was assigned a public defender, who turned out to be Rudy Giuliani.
The Battle of the Bulge was German offensive and key engagement of World War II, which lasted from December 16, 1944 until January 25, 1945. During the Battle of the Bulge, 20,876 Allied soldiers were killed, while another 42,893 were wounded, and 23,554 captured/missing. German losses numbered 15,652 killed, 41,600 wounded, and 27,582 captured/missing. Defeated in the campaign, Germany lost its offensive capability in the West. By early February, the lines returned to their December 16 location.
It began when the situation on the Western Front rapidly deteriorated in the fall of 1944, Adolf Hitler issued a directive for an offensive designed to stabilize the German position. Assessing the strategic landscape, he determined that it would be impossible to strike a decisive blow against the Soviets on the Eastern Front. Turning west, Hitler hoped to exploit the strained relationship between General Omar Bradley and Field Marshal Sir Bernard Montgomery by attacking near the boundary of their 12th and 21st Army Groups.
Hitler’s ultimate goal was to compel the U.S. and U.K. to sign a separate peace so that Germany could focus its efforts against the Soviets in the East. Going to work, Oberkommando der Wehrmacht (Army High Command, OKW) developed several plans including one that called for a blitzkrieg-style attack through the thinly defended Ardennes, similar to the assault conducted during the Battle of France in 1940.
The video below carries the voices of those of the greatest generation as they fought through that hell in the Ardennes some 75 years ago: a hell on earth.
When you take a step back and look at the big picture, sometimes you see a little bit more clearly.
There is a great series of photo’s by S. Mahe posted over at the Eye of Photography. Link is here. Some of the words that accompany the series are:
Somewhere is a sequence of images that are articulated like a feverish breath in which each photograph is autonomous and offers the possibility of a beginning.
“It’s a place where time is fading. A place where the physical contours of matter disappear. Here photography finds the delicacy of the nineteenth century pictorialists. In his proposal, Stéphane Mahé opens a window on an impalpable elsewhere and invites us to take a step aside, in search of a second reality. Somewhere on the edge of the world. The place, the time does not matter … Here, he/she who looks interprets, invents, tells his/her story.
It’s well worth the look.
Regardless of where we look the faces of the Democratic Leadership seem pained. They are not happy to be doing what they are doing and I’m beginning to think that the unpleasant task before them, m-peachin, is a painful necessity that may, or may not, halt the discovery of what they are really attempting to conceal.
That’s the pained look of the guilty and I’m pretty sure that that guilt has something to do with what the Donald noted early on. Let’s review his Day 1 promise.
There is a lot that Phil has said in the past that I either disagree with or believe that he should have stated differently. In any country, free or otherwise, that is my right. It’s a right that flows from God. I might die in some other country for exercising this right, but that does not make it any less a right.
There are folk in this country that would have us believe freedom of expression is a privilege and must be closely monitored and controlled. The movement of our freedom of expression from a right that flows from God, to a privilege controlled by man is essential to transforming the US to a Socialist country.
So while I may disagree with what Phil may have to say, I very much encourage him to continue to say it. Does that make sense?
