Unwashed | Ubiquity

Produced for the consumption of unwashed masses. By highlighting the failure(s) of these innocuous platforms many (most?) will chalk this up as another proof that the promise of technology is both empty and harmless.

These clumsy physical objects are kept in the public’s eye, while the non-visible cyber technology blasts it’s way toward ubiquity unobserved. The physical bots distract us from the nefarious bots and their relentless march.

OK, time to go back to sleep and to the comfort of my ignorance.

It Begins

I’m really of two minds on this whole immigration/migration thingy. I’ll not go into that forest here and now, but I will say that it is utterly insane not allow these folks the ability to support themselves (think work permits) and then complain that they are a drag on the public treasury.

With that thought behind us, just wait until similarly minded folk discover the wonders of firearms. There is a great upheaval brewing and I’ll bet dollars to donuts that the big city politicians will find a way to ignore the evolution/revolution on their streets until it explodes.

About Time | Improving LCP Target Acquisition

After several years of practicing, I’ve finally came to the realization that there is no way that I’ll be able to knock down a threat with my 380 before it closes the distance on me.  Truth be known, a threat wouldn’t really have to break a sweat getting to me as it takes that damn long to pull the pistol from my pocket, focus on the sights, and gain a sight picture with a Ruger LCP.  The sights are tiny and the length of the pistol is minuscule.  I had accepted that everyday my carry was only good for distances within the reach of bad breath.

Stock Ruger LCP

To improve my speed, I’ve gone to 6+1 (carry with one in the chamber).  Pretty dangerous for a weapon with no external safety.  Theoretically the ‘safety’ is provided by the cloth holster it comes with:  you cannot pull the trigger through the cloth.

As bad as it is/was there is no way I would consider a concealed carry that is any heavier or larger.  That old sag about a concealed carry being no good unless you carry it still holds true.

Now it came to pass, after these several years, the holster had all but given up the ghost. I went online to see what was available and how many kidneys I was going to need to give up and I was surprised to find that every mom and pop outfit on the mainland of China produces holsters for a LCP and about half of them produce holsters for LCPs outfitted with laser optics.

Ruger LCP with Viridian E Series Laser Sight

Laser optics for a LCP?  I had no idea.  Laser optics that are available for under a hundred dollars and weighing in at less than 8/10th of an once? I’m all in.

For the holster I chose one that’s ‘convertible’ and can be used either as pocket carry holster or a ‘Inside the Waist Band’ (IWB) holster. made by DOTM (stands for Don’t Tread On Me) Pocket/IWB Holster.  20 Bucks.

The holster comes with two retainer clips that change the height of the carry along the waist or it can be quickly removed for pocket carry. It weighs in at a little more than an once.

I see some more ‘range time’ in my future, lets see if I can get the time to engage a target down to something I can measure with a watch (vice a calendar).

Finally

I feel like I’ve crossed the finish line of a long challenging race. Today, at 9:01 the temp got above freezing for the first time in more than a week.

With some luck the driveway will be clear enough tomorrow to permit passage.

A Predictable Outcome | Sports Illustrated

Looks like Sports Illustrated has finally succumbed to their own wokeness and is forced to fire it’s entire staff.  They missed a $2.8M payment and breached their licensing agreement.

Ok, the burkeni was bad. I mean bad, bad. But it got worse: After all of that straight male shaming and pushing clearly unhealthy models on a gasping (I mean I was gasping) public they’ve gone down in flames.  The union the employees belonged to took it hard and is demanding that they continue publication of the rag.

I guess when they ran out of ladies in the plus sizes willing to put it all out there they went with the crowd that, to the man, was hugged to much as a child. One problem they should have saw coming with these girly-mans is/was they were all clamoring for the spotlight at the same time.

The owners of the debt are very unhappy with the chaos, multiple leadership changes, elimination of top staff, insufferable articles written by artificial intelligence.  The obvious fixation on plus-sized and trans models in the swimsuit issues was not helpful.

If we had done a Barney Fife (nipped it in the bud) we wouldn’t have a world filled with these great wonders

This Guy Gets It | An Argentine Treasure

Comments/Speech begins at around the 6 minute mark.

I seriously doubt that the WEF knew the contents of his speech before he began. It they had then I expect that they would have prevented him from pooh-poohing on their socialist designs.

While we can score one for freedom, I expect that Vegas is now carrying a line on how long this guy lasts before going tits up.

Two Things

The story (from the Smoking Gun) : After being derided as a “limp dick” in need of Viagra, an ex-con named Nurdin retrieved “a pink dildo” from a bedroom shelf and battered his girlfriend.

Nurdin became upset upon being told that he needed erectile dysfunction medication to address his sexual shortcomings.

Nurdin allegedly then took a dildo and shoved it into the 37-year-old victim’s mouth. The woman also told police that he punched her in the left eye.

A judge has barred him from having any contact with the woman he is alleged to have battered. Additionally, if he secures his release on bond, he will be fitted with a continuous alcohol monitoring device.

About Being Played

I’m pretty sure that anyone who stumbles across my small corner of the interwebs knows that I’m quick to point out when someone, normally a liberal, is being played. By ‘being played’ I mean that the article is tickling an itch it’s audience has already developed by taking a shot at the fools on the ‘other side’ (R if your a D, D if an R, D and R if your a I). When the purpose of an article is to incite more than it is to inform, when you agree with something/some one without thinking then there is a good chance someone somewhere is playing you a tune.

Think it can’t happen to you? Consider this from Breitbart

I don’t like Austin. I’m not going to run down all of the reasons why but I will suggest that if having ‘no respect for Biden’ means you should be fired, then half of the country would be looking for work right now. Having ‘no respect for Biden’ rehabilitates Austin’s image, at least in my eyes, somewhat.

I really don’t like being played.

Will the Girly-Mans Play?

We’re told that the Saturday game between KC and Miami, at KC, will be one of the coldest games ever played. Sub zero at kickoff. Four games in NFL history have had below zero kickoff temperatures::
— 1967 NFL Championship at -13
–1982 AFC Championship -9
–2016 wild card game -6
–2008 NFC Championship -1

My money is on these overpaid social activists finding a way to weasel out. If however, they man up and you’d like to watch, Peacock will be carrying it live. Yes, Peacock is a real thing and is a streaming service you must subscribe to. One can always subscribe and cancel after the trial period I suppose…..that is if the Chiefs and the Dolphins can get their game face on.

Clown World

Here is how you know that we have an incompetent government (as if you needed further proof). How in the world can the Sec Def go missing for nearly a week and no one in the administration notices?

WASHINGTON (AP) — Senior Biden administration leaders, top Pentagon officials and members of Congress were unaware for days that Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin had been hospitalized since Monday, U.S. officials said Saturday, as questions swirled about his condition and the secrecy surrounding it.

Big Big Balls and Sheep Shit Placebos

I don’t know how this man kept such a uplifting attitude with all of the death and despair that confronted him. I do know that if it were me that was reunited with my unit after the suffering on the hill there would have been one sergeant that would never hear the one that ended it for him.

In Other News. . . .

I’m going to go ahead and call bull shit on this one.

All Things are New Again

Is this how it begins anew? Are we at the beginning of the next revolution of a slowly turning wheel in time where enough of the past has been forgotten that we can stumble into repeating failures. Have we totally lost our awareness of how dangerous the world really is?

What the hell has happened to our collective memory? Here is a sampling of the major digital news outlets for today, Pearl Harbor Day

Not a word. Not a photo. The collapse of our national memory puts me in mind of the 18th Sayings in the Gospel of Thomas:

The disciples said to Jesus, “Tell us how our end will be.”
Jesus said, “Have you discovered, then, the beginning, that you look for the end? For where the beginning is, there will the end be. Blessed is he who will take his place in the beginning; he will know the end and will not experience death.”

So, ‘the day that will live in infamy’ existed only as long as our ADD’d society could hold the thought. I’m guessing there’s a new terrible event just over the horizon, something we swear we’ll never forget and then let it also slip into the dustbin of history.

As an afterthought it occurs that there are also slices of our society that are being stripped from our collective conscious by the relentless march of time. Some may take comfort in a little reminder of our simpler life by Shorty and Slim:

On the Upper East Side

There’s a stench emanating from what should be our shining city on a hill. It proceeds from the rot that permeates a government that has become self serving. A place where honor and patriotism have fallen away and a perpetual political class manipulate the levers of power to confuse and gaslight the balance of the nation. We should decentralize the government and take a wrecking ball to the marble palaces they have dedicated to themselves and their posterity.

A prime example of the mischief these inbreds scatter about like pixie dust is the letter 4 of these creatures crafted to tamp down on the story about a dope snorting, prostitute whoring, money grubbing, golom looking son-o-joe named Hunter. Remember?

More than 50 former intelligence officials then published an open letter on October 19, 2020, that argued that, based on their experience and expertise, the story about Hunter’s laptop came from the Russian government.

“If we are right, this is Russia trying to influence how Americans vote in this election, and we believe strongly that Americans need to be aware of this,” they wrote.

The good folk over at the New York Post circled back around yesterday and Leon Panetta, a former CIA director and defense secretary, John Brennan a former CIA director, Mike Hayden, a former CIA director, and Jim Clapper, a former director of national intelligence — who all once said The Post’s reporting had ‘all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation,’ — declined or did not respond to request for comment about whether the latest disclosures had changed their opinion.

Perhaps the J6 fiasco is/was designed to draw attention away from the real usurpers. There’s been a real stench coming out of Washington for the last 6 years or so. God help these folk when the winds change.

Feeling the Bern | NSFW or for Younglings

One shouldn’t end a Saturday evening pondering on his place in this universe, the frailties of life or wondering what cryptic meaning exists in words jotted down some many hundred upon hundreds of years ago. It’s not right and just ain’t healthy.

So, in the interest of your health and well being, I give you Bernie Mac. But before slapping the start button on the video consider the context in which Bernie is performing. He is just starting out and really is unknown. The venue is Def Comedy Jam and the crowd is notorious for ripping comics apart. The comedian that performed just before him was Martin Lawrence and they ate him alive. Lawrence was unable to calm the crowd and walked off of the stage.

And then Bernie appeared.

If you can see beyond the profanity he was a loud but good man (by all reports) that died far to young at 50. The wiki people have a good write-up on him here.

Enjoy. You can thank me later.

On 6 and 20 | Or Pissing off Athanasius

It’s no mystery that the Church Fathers undertook extraordinary efforts to squelch what they viewed as heretical teachings. They were more than just a little good at this and did a bang-up job of deep 6ing the Gospel of Thomas. Here is how good a job they did: for more than 1,500 years no one, absolutely no one knew of it’s existence.

Around 1900 3 fragments of a Greek document were found that demonstrated that a larger text once existed. The fragments are in terrible condition and only a part of the overall document survives today. It was found in Oxyrhynchus Egypt.

In 1947 the full document was discovered at Nag Hammadi, Egypt. It is written in Coptic and is supposed to be complete.

One copy? One copy only! One single copy buried and hidden from the world for more than 1,500 years. It was quite a dangerous document back in the day as it pooh poohs all over the New Testament teachings and runs directly against the what the early church fathers were intent on establishing: an all powerful church that ruled over all of man.

I’ve been thinking; if it had not been for it’s vanity (and those pesky Muslims) the Church really could have succeeded in becoming the only world power and we would all be it’s subjects. The Nazi’s were bad, but they were saints compared to the crazy bad these holy folk demonstrated during the inquisition(s).

The entire volume of this gospel is a giant riddle that begins with the prologue and continues through what the smart minds believe is the 114th saying. (Which of course itself a suspect number if one includes Saying 1 as actually being a portion of the prologue.) It’s not a set of riddles in the same vein as Revelations, rather It’s a scratch your head kinda thing over something as innocuous as the mustard seed in saying 20 (Smallest seed? Nope. Shelter for ‘birds of the sky’? Nope.) Surely the author knew this was not so, so why state it?

Here is another example: Saying 6 and Saying 14. In 6 the apostles ask 4 questions that Jesus (seemingly) does not answer. In Saying 14 he answers the questions asked in 6. Why in the world would someone write a testimony this way?

I’ve merged (and edited) 6 and 14 below
Question from 6
–Response from 14

Should we fast?
— Fasting begets sin.
How shall we pray?
— Prayer begets condemnation
How shall we give alms?
— Giving begets harm
What diet shall we observe?
— It matters not.

I’ve taken liberties with the balance of Sayings 6 and 14 and came up with a very short 2 part saying. Again, Saying 6 statement followed by a Saying 14 statement.

Do not tell lies.  Don’t do what you hate.
— This world cannot defile you, but you can defile yourself.

Finally, here is the bottom line (again my paraphrase) from 6:

— — — All things will be known. — — —

Coming full circle on all of this: The bottom line statement of Saying 6 is so poignant considering the resurfacing of the Gospel of Thomas. Just another part of the mystery of Thomas.

A Quick Conversion of $1.3B to $2K

This just in from the world of fantasy: The world’s largest crypto exchange Binance had the potential to reap mega earnings from Terra’s UST algorithmic stablecoin before it crashed last week, along with its sister cryptocurrency Luna.

In 2018, Binance put $3 million into Luna and received 15 million tokens in return. At Luna’s price peak in April, those tokens were worth $1.6 billion, Binance’s CEO Changpeng Zhao said in a Monday tweet. At Luna’s price now, the tokens are worth about $2,391.

Last week, Terraform Labs’ algorithmic stablecoin UST, which was theoretically tied to the price of the U.S. dollar, tanked to about 13 cents. As a result of the crash, Luna, the cryptocurrency that was meant to help the UST stablecoin keep its dollar peg, also collapsed. Luna went from trading at a high of around $119 just last month to being worth a mere fraction of a cent.

The Hive and The Cowboy

I was scanning the news this morning and ran across an article on an old time cowboy named Frank Bogart. He was being erased and part of that erasure is to remove a statue in his honor from it’s place of honor in front of the city hall.

I wondered what great shame Frank brought on himself and the city of Palm Springs. There was not much darkness in Frank’s life. Could some small slip somewhere in his past tripped him up? Nope, what brought about Dead Frank’s downfall is/was his manliness.

Here are extracts from the biographical sketches that the mayor and city council(men) have posted to the Palm Springs City website:

City Councilman Dennis Woods: A former resident of Santa Monica, Woods moved to Palm Springs’ Little Tuscany neighborhood seven years ago with his husband of 21 years, Robert Rotman. He has spent the last 30 years volunteering for a host of LGBTQ non-profit and community organizations.

Christy Holstege was re-elected to the Palm Springs City Council in November 2020, representing District 4. In December 2020, she was appointed to serve as Mayor for a one-year term by the City Council. She is the first woman to serve as mayor in the history of Palm Springs – and is also the first openly bisexual mayor in the country.

Mayor Lisa Middleton was first elected to the Palm Springs City Council in November 2017. . Her current term on City Council ends in December 2024. On December 9, 2021 she became the Mayor of Palm Springs. Palm Springs Council Members rotate annually the Mayor’s responsibility. She is the third transgender person in U.S. history to serve as Mayor of an American city, the first transgender person to serve as Mayor in the state of California.

City Councilman Geoff Kors served for nine years as Executive Director of Equality California where he led the effort to transform California from a state with almost no legal protections for the LGBT community to the state with the broadest protections in the nation. Geoff lives in Palm Springs with his husband, James Williamson

OBTW, an interesting aside on Ms Christy, her bio states that she lives with her husband Adam Gilbert and their newborn son. How fucking embarrassing that must be for Adam to have his wife openly advertise that she entertains affairs outside of the marriage (else wise how could she be bisexual?).

All of this brings us back to poor Dead Frank. His crime was being a straight white male cowboy with his statue on the doorstep of the House of Queer.

Sorry Frank, the age of masculinity has ended in Palm Springs.

You Are Being Mocked

If ever there were a mom that needed baby formula, it’s our vibrant and out of the closet Secretary of Transportation.

His response to the crisis that moms are facing with empty formula shelves? “The government does not make baby formula.”

Buttigieg on Nationwide Formula Shortage: ‘Government Does Not Make Baby Formula’

This entire administration is a startling array of idiots and freaks. Damn, we are in a dangerous place as a nation right now

Well, That’s Got To Be Embarrassing

Don’t worry about Matt being embarrassed by the near total collapse of the product he had been hawking, he got his money. No, those most deserving of ridicule should be all of those ‘more than mere cocky’ assholes that bought into this obvious pyramid scheme. Bitcoin and other make believe currencies have always been nothing more than a gamble. I could never really understand what underlying value exists in these non-existent ‘coins’. If you thought paper currency is/was a shaky proposition, what of a ‘currency’ that only exists in the notional world of cyber?

These currencies, BTW, are not a single product pyramid scheme, there is a whole world of gambling behind a vast array of ‘coins’ in this fantasy world. Here are a few of the valueless products available. Place your bets folks.

Bitcoin (BTC)
Terra (LUNA)
Avalanche (AVAX)
PancakeSwap (CAKE)
ThorChain (RUNE)

Dogecoin (DOGE)
FTX Token (FTT)
Cosmos (ATOM)
Ethereum (ETH)
Decentraland (MANA)

Ripple (XRP)
Solana (SOL)
Apecoin (APE)
WAVES
WhaleFin

Here are just a couple of charts that demonstrate the pain:

There are a whole lot of folk that got extremely rich working this scheme. All of those folk that set up the markets and sold the vapors to a population eager to see double (and sometime triple) digit returns are sitting pretty. As for the smucks left holding an empty bag here is a little free advice:: “a fool and his fortune. . . .”

2 Percent

Oh what an absolutely fucked up population we’ve created

Yes he is trying to demonstrate how asinine the conversation has become, but the ideas that he is articulating are ones that are on the lips of the protected classes.

A Real Beating

I’m out of the market.

I heard that it did real well yesterday.

Today it looks rough. Some -1,000 Dow rough

Over the last 3 months some NASDAQ Techs are in a painful place.

Be careful out there, some folk are betting heavy on the downside.

Y’all Need To Buck Up

There is no doubt about it, you folk that are still doing the daily grind need to put your nose to the stone and shoulder to the wheel. Those of us that have baled are counting on you and the tax dollars you generate!

Here is how poorly you’re doing: productivity fell 7.5 percent in the first three months of this year, the sharpest decline since 1947. NINETEEN FORTIE SEBEN ! Here is how bad 1947 was:

Not only are you not getting shit done, stuff built or papers passed from one desk to the next, you are charging more for not doing it. Labor costs jumped 11.6 percent in the last year. That’s the largest gain since 1982. Remember 1982? That’s the year Reagan finally made headway against the malaise the Jimmy Carter introduced. Let’s not forget how that communist SOB tried to lead us away from a competitive economy with his socialist drivel.

WTF, are we really are back to that shitty economy of the Carter years?

I guess a shitty economy and the promise of WW-Three is about all this ass-hat and the crowd of clowns that infest this administration can muster. Here’s the good news, should his last few brain cell vaporize we all get the consolation prize:

Technology Hell

Well, I’m scheduled to have fiber optic cable completely installed in my home this coming Wednesday. Until then I’m still hamstrung by both very expensive HughesNet satellite service and total systems failure due to rain or clouds or whatever atmospheric anomalies parade themselves between the dish adjacent my home and a satellite some 22,000 miles (or so) above my head.

Here is a recent speed test.

I had to double check my math on the download speed. It’s 680 K. It’s 680 K most of the time when it works. Once a month my usage meter resets and I gain high speed (supposedly 25 Mbps). but that last for about 2 days as which point I’m throttled back again.

The ‘ping’ and ‘jitter’ figures are terrible. Shit don’t happen anywhere near real-time on my system!

Hughes is charging me a little more that $100 monthly for internet access and VOIP telephone service. My new cost will $90 with unlimited long distance. Importantly the speed is an unlimited 250 Mbps (both ways). The speed of fiber optic means that I can now stream vice pay Dish Network $150+ monthly for their lousy TV Line up (190 channels of Home Shopping Network and Come to Jesus TV). A Youtube Live package is $65 monthly and covers all the stations I need covered.

All and all a no brainer, more than 10 times the speed day in and day out while reducing monthly costs by almost a hundred bucks. There will be a small fee for equipment rental tagged onto the bill for the modem, but I’m willing to spend the 10 bucks or so just to be able to check email without taking a nap between the send/receive cycles.

Patience.

The Quiet Warrior

When I think about military heroes, images from movies about Audi Murphy and Alvin York come to mind. Until yesterday I thought that the highest/most decorated US serviceman was Audi Murphy. Then I stumbled across this write up at a site dedicated to verifying the service claims of US Special Forces operators.

Here is a name that you may have never heard of, the name of a quiet warrior: Col Robert Howard. He was wounded 14 times over 54 months of combat and awarded 8 purple hearts.

He was nominated for the Medal of Honor three times over a 13-month period but received lesser medals for the first two nominations, which were for actions performed in Cambodia where the U.S. was fighting covertly. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions on December 30, 1968, his third nomination. It is noteworthy that many of his awards were earned while Col Howard was a NCO in Army Special Forces.

You might think of yourself as a tough SOB, but there are very, very few 8 purple heart awards tough SOB’s out there (living or dead). In addition to the awards, medals, and appurtenances shown below, he also earned or was awarded: Ranger Tab, Special Forces Tab, Combat Infantryman Badge, Aircrew Badge, Master Parachutist Badge, Pathfinder Badge, Air Assault Badge, Expert Infantryman’s Badge
Vietnamese Ranger Badge, Vietnamese Master Parachute Badge, Thai Master Parachute Wings, Korean Master Parachute Badge, Thai Balloonist Badge, French Parachutist Badge.

And of course the government in Vietnam showered him with objects of their gratitude as well. They include: Campaign Medal with 60 device, Cross of Gallantry with Gold Star (Corps citation), Cross of Gallantry with Silver Star (Division citation), Cross of Gallantry with Bronze Star (Regiment/Brigade citation), Armed Forces Honor Medal 2nd Award, Wound Medal, Civil Actions Medal 2nd Award, Cross of Gallantry Unit Citation with Palm, 1st Oak Leaf Cluster.
