Alaska State Trooper! Overview of the position: The Department of Public Safety is Alaska’s primary law enforcement agency and are a “full service” state law enforcement agency, not a highway patrol. The department enforces criminal laws, traffic regulations, state fish and game regulations, and coordinates search and rescue operations throughout the state. The Department of Public Safety has two law enforcement divisions: the Alaska State Troopers and the Alaska Wildlife Troopers.
