Theo and The Man

I had heard that Trump was a personable person. All that I’ve seen of him made those assertions seem improbable. Then I saw this sit down with Theo and was amazed at how hard Trump worked to understand Theo and his problems. He came across as a genuinely compassionate person. It’s a shame that most of what we see of him holds no resemblance to the man in this interview.

Not the Pariah They Hoped For

Nothing I like better than to see folks performing nefarious acts and then have that shit blow up in their face.

And for the antagonist? A brace of crow and a solid round of scorn:

In the spirit of ‘fair and balanced’, I thought it appropriate to balance the accolades of the once leader of the free world with an opposing view. Someone of stature and credibility:

Baring that, how about the emergence of a new credible witness? Someone intimately familiar with the inner workings of the vast business enterprise and insight into the mind and manners of Trump himself? How about. . . the doorman:

This crap has gone on for so long, we often fail to reduce this absurdity to it’s most basic form: tell me again, who was harmed?

McCarthyism V2

A hundred years from now this period in time will be remembered as an inflection point for the destiny of man. (Sounds dramatic doesn’t it?)

Between what they’ve been doing with the J6 crowd and with everyone associated with Trump in the last 8 or 9 years (including Trump) it sure looks a lot like the resurrection of McCarthyism (albeit via the judicial branch) to me. Does it make it OK when it’s done through the courts or is it the same old power play with a different set of players?

Had Trump walked and became president the world then would be an entirely different place than where our now current trajectory will land us. It no longer matters if he becomes president post conviction, what matters is that ‘lawfare’ has become normalized. I’d say also that by the looks of things it no longer matters if you, in good faith, follow the advice of your lawyers as they are as likely to blackmail your ass as they are to provide good council.

They should remove every copy of the Ten Commandments in every courthouse in the land and replace them with a simple plaque that says: “Just because you can prosecute and get a conviction, doesn’t mean you should.”

Hyperventilating

Have you ever noticed that the press moves from one Trump ‘disaster’ to another? Were the collective media a single person they would have been committed long ago for severe obsessive compulsion disorder.

The press has such a hard on for Trump they’ve completely lost all objectivity.. For instance, they have completely forgotten that ‘Trump’ and ‘The Trump Organization’ are separate entities. That’s how you end up with headlines like:

Even if their audit ‘suggests’ that the corporation took an overly aggressive view of the tax treatment of a loss (and this hasn’t been adjudicated), it’s the corporation that’s on the hook not Trump. This same approach by our nations impartial news organization occurred when they torpedoed The Trump Organization’s CFO for failing to tax his perks.

When Trump (actually The Trump Organization) gets the IRS on his ass they come with the full force of a politically charged and deep pocketed nemesis. Here is why he/they are so exposed (from Wiki) .

The Trump Organization is an holding company for all of Trump’s business ventures and investments, with around 250 of its affiliates and subsidiaries using the Trump name.

The Trump Organization has or has had interests in real estate development, investing, brokerage, sales and marketing, and property management. Trump Organization entities own, operate, invest in, and develop residential real estate, hotels, resorts, residential towers, and golf courses in various countries.

They also operate or have operated in construction, hospitality, casinos, entertainment, book and magazine publishing, broadcast media, model management, retail, financial services, food and beverages, business education, online travel, commercial and private aviation, and beauty pageants. Retail operations include or have included fashion apparel, jewelry and accessories, books, home furnishings, lighting products, bath textiles and accessories, bedding, home fragrance products, small leather goods, vodka, wine, barware, steaks, chocolate bars, and bottled spring water.

The only reason that Trump is staring down a NY jury right now is not because he is being called to task for some great transgression against society, it’s, as others have so eloquently stated, to keep him the limelight with his pecker out. As long as he can be painted in that light, and off of the campaign trail (where he is always on the offensive) then the prosecution can be considered a success.

They could give a fuck about the truth and they don’t care for the appearance of a fair and impartial judicial system. Which, once given a little thought, means they damn sure don’t give a fuck about you/me and/or our country.

Here’s the star witness:

No where in the annals of criminal justice can we find an accused stand trial where the primary witness for the prosecution is a notorious liar and scumbag.. One former Assistant U.S. Attorney states this about Cohen’s latest antics:
“It is not a problem for Cohen’s credibility because he has none — he is a convicted perjurer and fraudster whose current ‘defense’ of his fraud convictions is that he wasn’t telling the truth when he pled guilty. “

Cohen has decided that the best course of action he could take is produce a running commentary on the trial in order to generate revenue on his nightly ‘podcasts’. Here how bad that move is (enter Stormy Daniels’ scheming attorney Michael Avenatti) sitting in the damp cell of a federal prison.

“Never underestimate this guy’s ability to screw something up due to his ignorance and arrogance. He’s dumber than a box of rocks. The state can’t win the case without him and because of his conduct in reviewing trial testimony in violation of the court’s order, which [he] just admitted to when speaking with ABC, the court must strike him as a witness, declare a mistrial, or both. Thus sayeth that grand champion of the downtrodden; Michael Avenatti .

What does all of this mean to the collective ‘us’? It leaves us with broken institutions. For a couple hundred years the barbarians have been kept from the gates by good men who believed in the promise of America. Not the ‘earn an honest buck’ promise, but rather the quasi-equal playing field promise. These idiots have managed to snatch that away from us and we are left with the worst possible promise for the future: Powerful people are to be feared and all of the systems are rigged to benefit them alone.

Hyperdrive

Yahoo seems to have fallen into complete madness. Today’s pages show that more than just a ‘mite’ of bias may have invaded the site.

This is what journalism looks like in our brave new world.

Making Nancy Salivate

Right on que the folk in the forth estate have generated a combined push to paint the Trumpster as worthy of exercising the 25th amendment. How else could we account for the broad range of stories about his erratic behavior and stories detailing how covid affects folks mental capacity.

There is this from a relatively:
–unknown reporter,
–at an unknown news outlet
–about unverified data
–and where the data itself is so cherry picked that it boggles the mind (The study looked at the records of the first 509 coronavirus patients hospitalized, from March 5 to April 6, at 10 hospitals in the Northwestern Medicine health system in the Chicago area. )

Now here comes the scare: “Nearly a third of hospitalized Covid-19 patients experienced some type of altered mental function — ranging from confusion to delirium to unresponsiveness — in the largest study to date of neurological symptoms among coronavirus patients in an American hospital system.

From Vanity Fair a story that I initially thought was a joke because of the number of time it said according to a source, or sources said,:

“Don Jr. Thinks Trump Is Acting Crazy”: The President’s COVID Joyride Has the Family Divided

Donald Trump’s erratic and reckless behavior in the last 24 hours has opened a rift in the Trump family over how to rein in the out-of-control president, according to two Republicans briefed on the family conversations. Sources said Donald Trump Jr. is deeply upset by his father’s decision to drive around Walter Reed National Military Medical Center last night with members of the Secret Service while he was infected with COVID-19. “Don Jr. thinks Trump is acting crazy,” one of the sources told me. The stunt outraged medical expertsincluding an attending physician at Walter Reed.

According to sources, Don Jr. has told friends that he tried lobbying Ivanka Trump, Eric Trump, and Jared Kushner to convince the president that he needs to stop acting unstable. “Don Jr. has said he wants to stage an intervention, but Jared and Ivanka keep telling Trump how great he’s doing,” a source said. Don Jr. is said to be reluctant to confront his father alone. “Don said, ‘I’m not going to be the only one to tell him he’s acting crazy,’” the source added.

One area where the family seems united is over the president’s manic tweeting early Monday morning. After Trump sent out more than a dozen all-caps tweets, the Trump children told people they want Trump to stop. “They’re all worried. They’ve tried to get him to stop tweeting,” a source close to the family told me.

The Trump family’s private concern about Trump’s behavior could raise questions about his fitness for office. Trump has been prescribed drugs that medical experts say can seriously impair his cognitive function. Last night the New York Times reported that steroids, which Trump is reportedly taking, specifically dexamethasone, are known to “affect mood, causing euphoria or a general happiness.”

I’ll say this about DJT, the boy has ball of steel to put up with all of the shit the left has thrown his way over the last 40 months or so. I guess there is only one thing that really keeps him going. You

We can’t quit now, the stakes are to high.
