It’s day one of the Democratic National Convention and those boys of blue (D’s) are in desperate need of a smoked mirror. For this entire week we can the press to do all they can to aid them in that cause:
The authors did a bang-up job when they released this puppy, they worked up a ‘twofer’: 1) R’s are trying to deprive 40K registered ‘Arizonans’ of he right to vote and 2) are using those bastards on the Supreme Court to do it.
It really doesn’t matter that the 40K Arizonans in question may not be US Citizens (which is what the issue is here) as long as those just and upright members of the press can get a clean shot at those un-American R’s. The name of the game in any election is to get out the vote and there is no surer way to do that than to infuriate an uninformed population.
The shit is really going to get deep over the next several days and the only real upside to engaging with the news is that every now and again someone errs and the truth slips out:

Things weren’t quite bat-shit crazy enough in Paris for the last couple of weeks and those ‘one world, one people’ kinda folk are tripping over each other to show stupidity at its grandest.
LA Mayor Karen Bass and the organizers for 2028 Olympics in LA are planning to force spectators to take public transportation to Olympic events. Just in case that doesn’t fuck up enough peoples lives, the plan is to twist the arms of area business to ‘encourage’ remote working in order to clear the streets a mite.
Here is how ignorant these folk are: In order to have enough busses for all of these folk to get from A to B they will have to borrow 3000 busses from other cities in the country. That means that instead of stupid folk in LA paying for their stupidity they will, of course, have others pay for their stupidity. Talk about ‘Net Zero’, this effectively results in net zero carbon savings as what you save in LA you spend in St. Paul.
If I could offer Ms Bass some helpful advice: better get someone working on that homeless problem y’all been toying with for the last 40 years or so. Thing could get real ugly real quick otherwise.
This from Yahoo News: Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass said 2028 chiefs want the LA Olympics to be “The No Car Games” by investing in public transportation and encouraging Angelenos to adopt pandemic-style remote-working for the duration of the event.
“The No Car Games’ means that you will have to take public transportation to get to all of the venues,” Bass told a press conference ahead of Sunday’s Paris Olympics closing ceremony. “In order to do that we have been building out our transportation system.”
The plan would require borrowing more than 3,000 buses from other parts of the United States, she added.
Bass was adamant however that Los Angeles’s traffic, where rush hour congestion can lead to car journeys of just a few miles taking an hour or more, would not be a problem, citing the history of the 1984 Olympics in the city.

The latest approach by the D’s is to claim that competence doesn’t matter. Sorta makes you wonder if the fix is already in. Perhaps elections no longer matter, they’ve become nothing more than a useful distraction, another ring in the circus that entertains the masses while the largess is raided.
Everything was going just fine until that ass named Donald showed up and began chasing the money changers from the temple.
The only reason Old Joe has not been subjected to the 25th Amendment and is still the presumptive D nominee is folk can’t figure out how to escape from that prison of their own making: Kamala. They are in a terrible bind.
The RNC is exploiting her go-to lines. Lines she has repeated in 62 separate speeches.
Unless something unfortunate happens to the silver tongued one and she becomes unavailable, the best play for the D’s would be to put on a good show, stay emotionally detached, and get an early start on the 2028 go-round.
I’ll bet the butt holes on her Secret Service detail are puckered so tight that when they stand up, the chairs come up with them.
As far as Biden and his adamant stance, his 100 percent in it to win it posture; does anyone expect him to say anything other than that? Imaging the chaos if he were to say: ‘I’m 85 percent in’ or ‘I need a nap need time to think’. All hell would break loose among the D and the D donors.
What the smart money knows is that Biden is toast and he and the D’s are buying time to do what needs to be done to replace him. He is 100 percent in until he isn’t. My bet is that ‘he isn’t’ once they solve the Kamala problem. Barring that, he’s out once the deep state figures out a path forward.

The Paris Olympics are just around the corner but the real gymnastics will come from the D’s if they try to replace Slow Joe with anyone other than Kamel-toe. Kinda difficult to keep the black vote if/when that house of cards falls and she’s not at the top of the ticket.

The D’s are working real hard to put Thursdays disaster into the dust bin of history. The path forward, the plan, appears to be to act like it didn’t even happen. Onward ! Forward!
That enthusiasm might just blind enough D’s and I’s to look past the naked emperor, but at the end of the day we will all end up with a babbling old man at the reins of power in a very dangerous world.

It took about 10 law enforcement (LE) personnel, some of who were undercover, to arrest Tommy on an immigration warrant. Three simple questions come immediately to mind:
1. How many LE folk do they employ to take down your typical Roberto or Pablo?
2. How many undocumented newcomers do they typically take to jail?
3. Finally how many border walkers are actually named in a warrant prior to their arrest?

I’d say also that by the looks of things it no longer matters if you, in good faith, follow the advice of your lawyers as they are as likely to blackmail your ass as they are to provide good council.
They should remove every copy of the Ten Commandments in every courthouse in the land and replace them with a simple plaque that says: “Just because you can prosecute and get a conviction, doesn’t mean you should.”

Have you ever noticed that the press moves from one Trump ‘disaster’ to another? Were the collective media a single person they would have been committed long ago for severe obsessive compulsion disorder.
The press has such a hard on for Trump they’ve completely lost all objectivity.. For instance, they have completely forgotten that ‘Trump’ and ‘The Trump Organization’ are separate entities. That’s how you end up with headlines like:

The motion to vacate is the House’s procedure to remove the speaker. The current rules allow any one member, Democrat or Republican, to introduce the motion. If it is introduced as a “privileged” resolution, the House must consider it at some point, although it could be delayed with procedural votes. It only needs a simple majority to pass.
With R’s controlling the house by only one or two votes this means it only takes two or three malcontents to successfully remove the speaker, providing the D’s all vote to to toss him out as well (as they did with McCarthy)
My view is that these idiots the R’s have elected to office are to smart by half. That is to say they’re so stupid they would give away the keys to the kingdom just to get that rush that only the exercise of power provides.
We should have elected adults and problem solvers instead of characters of outrage and outrageous characters.
The more radical R’s are running around shitting all over the commons because the Speaker blew off their threats. Looks to me like Biden and the D leadership have offered him cover and any ‘Motion to Vacate’ will fail.
I think the MTG’s and Gaetz’ of the world know this as well and won’t move that motion. They will however retreat to the shadows of their lair and scheme anew. To them it’s less about righteousness and more about power.
I may (or not) agree with the policy/funding decisions that were considered and passed. Those are not the subject of this screed; the uncivil and mindless thumping by R’s and D’s is. They (both sides) have turned the The Peoples House into a circus worthy of our ridicule.
The petty grabs for power and overt intimidation(s) sprawled out before a nation of sheep. 70 percent of the population has bought into the we/they, R v D shit show and have so thoroughly socialized their R-ness or D-ness that they cannot retract for fear of being abandoned by their herd.
So MTG, along with her sycophant Gaetz, would be wise to heed the words of the accidental sage Zack Van:

There is another way of understanding where we are as a country, it’s by looking at two distinctly separate events and examining how they are received by our citizenry.
First the invalid that has been installed as President doesn’t have a clue. This is bad, real bad. As bad as you think it is, it is much worse. Here is how: half of the country won’t admit that he’s well beyond his use by date. They hate the R’s with such passion that they are blind to the hazards generated by having him stumble around on the world stage.
Secondly, the left has not cornered the market on morons: Rep Matt Gaetz (R-FL) may not be the bellwether, but he’s not trailing by much. Breitbart brought forward a report that Gaetz generated. Saying:
“More than 1,000 U.S. troops are effectively being held “hostage” in Niger with medical supplies running low — stuck between the military junta-controlled government’s demands for them to leave and the Biden administration’s refusal to let them go home after the end of their deployments, according to a report prepared by Rep. Now there are R’s that hate the D’s with such passion that they’ve abandoned all rational thought and suck in what this egotist spews out as if it were mothers milk. That the D’s hate with equal enthusiasm is no consolation.
We are not only a nation failing to rise to it’s potential, we’ve weakened ourselves such that some industrious foreign actor might just take a run at the brass ring.

When we tell’ Iran not to attack Israel and then they do so anyway, the reporter calls it a win for the President because Israel has not (yet) responded. BTW, when they say that Israel has not ‘responded’ they purposely confuse the meaning of that word with the actions taken by the US (the word ‘response’ in the red banner). If they mean the the US is responding by using words (as the banner implies) then why are Israel’s words not a response as well?
When Iran attacks Israel and the question presented to the administrations slime-ball mouthpiece is about containing Israel (viewed as a win for the admin) rather than not being able to contain an Iranian attack on our ‘ally’ (viewed as a failure for the admin), you know the fix is in. The first question asked is how effective the President has been on dissuading Israel from attacking Iran. It should have been why was the President so ineffective at dissuading Iran from attacking Israel.
The idea that the US has sent a message to the world and strengthened security in the region by our actions (beginning at the 1:18 mark) is an obvious falling away of reality. But then again, your reality is not for you to form on your own.: the US government insists on participating in that endeavor.
With rare exception every time I hear a politician, or their mouthpiece (including their many mouthpieces in the press), use the word ‘bipartisan’ I know that we are being fed a line of crap. Kirby begins using it at about the 3 minute mark.
Up is down, right is wrong, the sky is green, and your an unpatriotic American if you don’t support this administrations balls-to-the-wall run at destroying the nation and setting fire to the world.
If you think what’s happening in America is an ‘erosion of our rights’ by bad actors in the deep state then you’re the model citizen that same state has worked so hard to create.
The fourth amendment: “The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized’
The bill passed 273 to 147 even though an amendment that would guarantee that the states intrusion into the lives of citizens was legit (a warrant required) failed on an earlier vote/tie of 212 to 212.
Apparently the Constitution and the Bill of Rights have no meaning to these folks and the oath they swore while ascending to office was eye candy for the masses.
So the score is somewhere around 70 to zip. But the score only matters if you believe that ‘the game’ is legit and not just another ring in a multi-ringed circus. The ideals of the founders expressed in the constitution are not even any longer suggestions, but rather punch lines used by the clowns within the ring.
A while ago I received a pretty thorough note detailing how I may have fallen prey to ‘wrong think’ on the topic of immigration. It arrived as an email (vice a comment) and rather than copy and paste it into the comments on that topic I decided that the note provided me with a do over opportunity; a means to add a little meat to the bones I had earlier cast upon the cybers in a post titled ‘A Rant: Immigration’.
I’ve stripped off the personally identifiable information and removed some extraneous material and am throwing it back out to you, my loyal readers, in the form of a “you said, I respond format” that is certain to confuse all but the most astute.

Slo Joe and Camel Toe went the extra mile and invited a ‘popular’ rap star to their palace near the Potomac; the desired result was underachieved and, considering how the conversation probably went, this has to be a real disappointment for the dynamic duo. After all, who could spend more than a minute or two with this jewel before their brain begins to hurt.
I used ‘popular’ in quotes because I’ve know idea who she is. She’s obviously a somebody else-wise why the call? After a review of the CNN interview, I can see why she was such a catch for the D’s: she’s so damn articulate.
Just about as articulate a soul as you could ask for: “It was so cool, I was geeked,” she began. “Everybody don’t get to meet the President and the Vice President, so just being able to be in the White House, like I never in a million years thought I’d be in the White House. Then I was in the White House and got to meet the President and Vice President? Oh, they can’t mess with me.” “I just feel like ‘her,’ you feel me?”
Bottom line? They can’t even squeeze an endorsement from a Memphis Bell.
The outcome of that race didn’t matter for two reason: It was a blue on blue contest (thanks to the reds) and AI is going bring us to our bony knees anyway.
Who was the Republican contestant in NY 3rd congressional district? Why it was a registered Democrat of course. Her name: Mazi Melesa Pilip. Ms Pilip, a registered democrat hails from Ethiopia and more recently from Israel.
Her husband was born in the Ukraine; small world isn’t it. Wiki says he’s an American-Ukrainian-Jewish medical student from a family of Holocaust survivors who had come from the United States to Haifa to study medicine at the Technion, later becoming a cardiologist. I can relate, as I have similar background (having been born in Virginia, am quasi Christian, and now live in Tennessee).
Back to Ms Mazi and the purpose of this lengthy drivel; The R’s in New York didn’t care anything about her politics, which way she would vote, or what crap they were hoisting on the rest of the country as long as they could get a check-mark in the W column. Besides that, they get extra points and a whole lotta boxes checked for selecting a woman, of African origin, who’s Jewish. Hell they even get point for inclusion by nominating a D to represent the R party.
This is the NY’s 3rd Congressional district. I’m pretty sure the R’s, both within this congressional district and within leadership positions at the national level, knew that this seat was toast. What most of us commoners didn’t (and probably still don’t recognize) is that regardless of who won the special election in NY’s 3rd, it was a seat absolutely going to flip blue because you cannot, and I mean absolutely cannot find someone who is more RINO than a registered Democrat running as a Republican.
As for the district, it’s area of about 20 by 20 (400 square miles) made up of concrete and road signs. That’s about 2000 residents per square mile. It has about 100,000 more souls calling it home than the entire state of Wyoming where they have a land area of 97,818 square miles, or about 6 folk per square miles. Wyoming has one representative for the entire state. Which brings me to my second point; AI.

Somebody needs to grab a keyboard and start smashing it into the servers. Five associates of Hillary Clinton and her presidential campaign are invoking their Fifth Amendment rights and refusing to cooperate with Special Counsel John H. Durham, according a filing in federal court revealed later Friday in Washington, DC.
The revelation emerged in a motion filed by Durham to oppose the efforts of defendant Michael Sussmann and the Clinton campaign to withhold some documents from evidence by asserting attorney-client privilege.
Sussmann is charged with lying to the FBI in 2016 when he informed the FBI about a fraudulent link between then-candidate Donald Trump and the Russian government via Alfa Bank. Sussmann allegedly presented himself as a concerned citizen, and hid the fact that he was working for the Clinton campaign.
In the filing, Durham noted that while one witness, identified as “Researcher-2,” was granted immunity from prosecution in exchange for testimony, “at least five other witnesses who conducted work relating to the Russian Bank-1 allegations invoked (or indicated their intent to invoke) their right against self-incrimination.”

Joe kept trying to get his attention and was ignored by both the former president and the gaggle surrounding him. He went so far as to tug on his shoulder several time before Obama gave him a hint of recognition.
