Raysis Asses

Rep. Al Green (D-Texas) asked seven of the nation’s leading bankers on Wednesday to confirm their race: “As I look at the panel, and I’m grateful for your attendance, the–the eye would perceive that the seven of you have something in common. You appear to be white men. I may be mistaken,” Green said at a hearing of the House Financial Services Committee.

“If one among you happens to be something other than a white male, would you kindly extend a hand into the air? Kindly let the record reflect that there are no hands in the air and that the panel is made up of white men,” Green continued.

“This is not a pejorative,” Green said. “You’ve all sermonized to a certain extent about diversity. If you believe that your likely successor will be a woman or a person of color, would you kindly extend a hand into the air?” [No hands raised.]

Then Green told the bank executives, “For fear that you may not hear me, just raise your hand now so that I’ll know you’re there. Raise your hand, please. All of you. Sir, apparently you don’t hear me over on the end. Would you kindly extend a hand into the air if you can hear me?”

Green prodded all of them to raise their hands, which the bankers did — reluctantly.

Green continued: I know it’s difficult to go on the record sometimes, but the record has to be made. All white men, and none of you, not one, appears to believe that your successor will be a female or a person of color.

Is it your bank likely to have a female or person of color within the next decade? Kindly extend a hand into the air — two, three, four, five. All right, five. Without giving the commentary that I would dearly like to give, I’ll move on.

You know, I’m sitting next to a reverend, and I’ve heard him say that he’d rather see a sermon then hear a sermon. Let us have an opportunity to see a sermon when you return.

Next question has to do with something near and dear to my heart. My ancestors were slaves. In 2005, is it true that J.P. Morgan released information directly indicating that it directly benefited from slavery? Would the representative from J.P. Morgan respond?

The Imposition of a Global Theocracy

Thomas Lifson over at the American Thinker has a great write-up on the three amigos and the damage they are doing to the Dem party. It reads, in part:

To say that Representatives Rashida Tlaib and Ihan Omar have chips on their shoulders would be an understatement.  Both women embrace the notion of Muslim victimhood in a party that stokes the grievances of a variety of minorities who are encouraged to see themselves as victims and seek balm in the form of concessions from the majority. When the interests of these subgroups clash, the standard operating procedure of the Dems has been to co-opt the minority leadership and have them smooth over those conflicts in favor of the goodies that come from unity at the expense of the malign majority against whom they nurse their wounds.

But when religion becomes the basis for grievance, and when the radical version of that religion seeks as its sacred mission the destruction of an existing state and the imposition of a global theocracy based on its dogma, compromise becomes much more difficult.

So, we can expect Reps. Omar and Tlaib, backed up by their glamourous amiga-in-grievance Rep. Ocasio-Cortez, to continue to press demands that are unpalatable not simply to mainstream Americans, but to fellow members of the minority collation of the Democrats (such as Jews and black Christians). By criticizing the party’s treatment of them as tokens of diversity, they sow the seeds of a split.

That Face When

From Breitbart

The heads of seven of the largest U.S. banks came before the House Financial Services Committee Wednesday after weeks of preparations for a battle with House Democrats. But much of the questioning fell flat, with Democrats’ barbs largely missing the mark or revealing a surprising lack of knowledge of the business of the big banks.

As a case in point, Financial Services Committee Chairwoman Maxine Waters pressed the executives on the burgeoning crisis of student loans. Total student-loan debt now exceeds $1.5 trillion, making it the second largest category of consumer debt after home loans. Over a million borrowers default on student loans each year. If current default trends continue, close to 40 percent of borrowers are expected to default on their student loans by 2023, according to a Brookings Institute study.

“What are you guys doing to help us with this student loan debt? Who would like to answer first? Mr. Moynihan, big bank,” Waters asked, directing her question first to Bank of America CEO Brian Moynihan.

“We stopped making student loans in 2007 or so,” Moynihan said.

“Oh, so you don’t do it anymore. Mr. Corbat?” Waters said, turning her attention to Citigroup CEO Michael Corbat.

“We exited student lending in 2009,” Corbat said.

It fell to JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon to break the news to Waters that the big banks are no longer in the business of making student loans. The federal government forced commercial banks out of the student loan business back in 2010. The Department of Education now makes almost all student loans directly.

Experience With Oppression is a Job Requirement

Seen over at The National Post

There’s a debate among America’s left-leaning voters right now about who is qualified to be the Democratic presidential nominee. It has nothing to do with foreign policy, health care or the Green New Deal. It’s not about who has the best CV or who can knock out Trump. No. The most pressing issue for a large subset of Democrats is whether the gay South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg — who announced his exploratory committee in January and says he’ll have a major announcement to make in coming days — is oppressed enough or “just another white man.”

The potential problem, according to Slate essayist Christina Cauterucci, is that despite being gay, Buttigieg “is also white, male, upper-class, Midwestern, married, Ivy League–educated, and a man of faith.” In other words, his supposed privileges cancel out his oppression, and for many Democrats, experience with oppression is a job requirement. “Has Buttigieg faced setbacks or barriers to success because he’s gay?” asks Cauterucci. “Does he have an identity-specific worldview that would inform his work as much as, say, Harris’s experience as a black woman would inform hers?”

Read, Digest, Repeat

Whatever could have influenced these bastards?

From what we now know, a small cabal of high-level officials in the Department of Justice, the FBI and the national intelligence services were so moved by their personal loathing for Donald Trump that they worked together and with the Hillary Clinton campaign to create a story about Russian influence. They painted a patina of truth on a pack of lies and sold it to a secret court to obtain secret warrants to spy on the presidential candidate of one of this country’s largest political parties, and then leveraged half-truths, braggadocio, humor and entirely justified personnel actions into a two-year carnival of official thuggery and wild accusation unseen since 1692 Salem, Massachusetts.

The Promised Land

Those that would desire a socialist ‘paradise’ (bless their little pointed heads) would do well to closely examine Venezuela. The photo’s and news reports that are now beginning to flow out of that wet-dream are both telling and pitiful. If you look closely at the photo below you’ll see that the ‘trash’ that is lying in the gutters is actually currency. They are in that place where there is no food, water, electricity, fuel, medicine means of exchange, or hope. Let’s not let similarly inclined idiot work this magic on America.

Little Jimmy Clapper Squeals On Obama

Clapper: “One point I’d like to make, Anderson, that I don’t think has come up very much before, and I’m alluding now to the President’s criticism of President Obama for all that he did or didn’t do before he left office with respect to the Russian meddling. If it weren’t for President Obama, we might not have done the intelligence community assessment that we did that set off a whole sequence of events which are still unfolding today, notably, special counsel Mueller’s investigation,”

Our Advanced Society

It’s a sad state we find ourselves in. Our ‘advanced’ society will either continue on in sweet ignorance or face the realization that powerful forces are manipulating us at will (and do something about it).

Now long time readers of this blog will remember that I have real problems with some of the personal attributes of our President. That disdain in no way diminishes my profound gratefulness for what he has done for the nation. The fact is I would reelect him in a heartbeat, if for no other reason (and there are many more reasons) that his laser focus is on the traitors that have weaseled their way into high office. I’m pretty sure shining his bright light and sword like tongue on that crowd will cascade into the media’s domain. There will be anguish and much gnashing of teeth and it couldn’t be happening to a more deserving crowd.

I’ll Give Her 3 Months

This idiot destroys everything she touches. Between the killing of jobs in her home district and the extreme socialist policies, she is entirely capable of doing serious damage to demowits. She will be ‘recycled’ by the party in the next 3 months. They cannot head into the next election cycle with her placed in front of the media as an exemplar.

That’s Going To Leave A Mark Bernie

Legal Insurrection is running an article that touches on how Socialism has just failed in Finland. It seems that the utopian paradise collapsed under the weight of health care. Poor Bernie, he is/was holding out the Nordic nations as an exemplar of what great good Socialism is/was.

The government of Finland collapsed Friday due to the rising cost of universal health care and the prime minister’s failure to enact reforms to the system.

Prime Minister Juha Sipila and the rest of the cabinet resigned after the governing coalition failed to pass reforms in parliament to the country’s regional government and health services,.

With the collapse of Finland’s government over its inability to financially support its massive socialist agenda, Bernie will undoubtedly do the same thing he always does when socialism (or communism) fails: ignore, obfuscate, and deflect.

After all, for all his big, shiny promises of “free” everything for everyone, he still refuses to address how this largess will be paid for.
