President Pelosi?

Nancy Pelosi, Paul Ryan

It is entirely possible that Nancy Pelosi could be the next President of the United States. She is now next in line behind Pence. Were Trump impeached and the VP torpedoed, we’d wake up to that nightmare.

I’m sure that that thought never crossed her mind.

Even Still

Hillary was back in the news this week, she has provided the nation some more gloom and doom in an Instagram post that is undoubtedly designed as an ‘I told you so’.

I suppose the constant rearing of her self centered head can be thought of as therapy, or perhaps she is trying to stay relevant in case she is called on by the nation to save us all.

I did not bother to peruse her post, just knowing that she posted was enough for me to pity her further.

What the enemies of Trump don’t understand is that his supporters agree with them to a large extent: he is brash, self centered, and contorts the truth beyond understanding. We know this, and in knowing this we would elect him again in a heartbeat. We don’t care to hear about it any longer, what we do want is for him to continue his America first fight.

The Gathering Storm

With a divided congress and a democratic party that resembles a circus, the constitution is guaranteed to be tested this year. In times past the democrats could rely on the courts to codify what could never have been written into law, now that the Donald is mainstreaming the courts that avenue is dead to them. I expect the rhetoric to go off the charts and outright tantrums to grow. This new year promises to be entertaining if nothing else. Enjoy the **it show.

116th Congress

The 116th Congress is scheduled to convene at noon (EST) on the 3rd of January 2019 and we can expect plenty of fireworks throughout it’s tenure. No doubt the new Democratic majority in the House will provide all of the fireworks our young nation can endure. The word on the street is that the incoming batch of clueless communists are already pressing the aged and senile ‘leadership’ of the left into submission on a range of issues.

I for one cannot wait to see what fresh hell the ‘New Green Deal’ will unleash on the Country.

Tears

The Demo’s will be taking over the house shortly. While I weep for our country, I am buoyed by the promise of hilarity as our betters define the logic that warrants our demise. I hate it, but am determined to enjoy this shit show.

The Death of Free Speech

Free speech is increasingly imperiled as nations around the world turn to authoritarianism, which comes packaged as everything from iron-fisted dictatorial rule to coercive “progressivism.”

One thing every brand of authoritarianism has in common is speech codes. Dissenting ideas dilute authority, so they must be suppressed. We should be thankful for the free speech that remains, and rise from our Thanksgiving tables prepared to fight for it.

Our political speech is soggy with endless calls to “fight” for various “rights,” few of which bear any resemblance to what America’s founders considered to be inalienable rights. One important clue to their thinking is that rights were seen as something an unjust government could take away from citizens by force, not something benevolent governments present to citizens as a gift.

Freedom of speech was codified as the first of those rights because preserving the others is impossible without the ability to speak up and organize. We might reflect on the importance of religious freedom as the very first component of the First Amendment because inalienable rights are impossible to understand without acknowledging a power higher than the state from which those rights descend. Once the concept of rights is understood, safeguarding the ability to discuss them and organize peacefully to protect them is vital.

Are We Truly There?

The American Thinker has a great, and highly disturbing article about American tipping point.  It begins:

Truly great disasters come like a thief in the night. How many foresaw Rome’s sacking in 410 A.D., her collapse 66 years later, WWI or WWII? As for today, how many see that the United States is at what some call a tipping point, what others may call a Fourth Turning? Whatever you call it, the American republic is in its last days. This is too scary for many to contemplate, but there’s something far scarier: playing ostrich and not being prepared for things to come.

The so-called Left, ever violent since its French Revolution birth and as power hungry as ever, wholly controls the culture: the media, mainstream and social; academia; and entertainment. This means it controls long-term politics, since the latter is downstream of culture. So is big business, mind you, which is why the Left controls most of it as well; this, of course, translates into funding.

Trump’s 2016 victory will not MAGA; it was merely a stay of execution, a prolonging of the inevitable. This should have been obvious in a country that could elect Barack Obama and then, like the Titanic having backed up to hit the iceberg again, re-elect him. If it wasn’t, it should be obvious now that the Democrats have seized the House in a Watergate-level rout.

A Civics Lesson for the Cortex

As seen at Breitbart:  Representative-elect Occasional Cortex cannot even name the three branches of the federal government as shown while she spoke on a video conference call with prospective left-wing candidates on Saturday.

“If we work our butts off to make sure that we take back all three chambers of Congress — uh, rather, all three chambers of government: the presidency, the Senate, and the House,”

Contrary to this moonbats claim, the U.S. government is divided into branches and not chambers.  From my youth: executive, judicial and legislative.

Little Adam Schitt

And so it begins anew, the Trumpster and Little Adam are certain to tangle in the coming congressional session.

The Donald described Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff of California as “little Adam Schitt” in a tweet Sunday, criticizing the likely incoming House Intelligence Committee chairman for his comments about acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker earlier in the day.

The tweet was still up on the president’s Twitter page more than an hour after Trump first posted it.

“So funny to see little Adam Schitt (D-CA) talking about the fact that Acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker was not approved by the Senate, but not mentioning the fact that Bob Mueller (who is highly conflicted) was not approved by the Senate!”

I guess if we can’t have good government we can at least have a reasonably good comedy as a consolation prize.

Two Years of Laughs and Giggles

We can expect a gloriously ridiculous **it show for the two years following the swearing in of the new congress.  As much as I wish Trump could have maintained both houses to advance his agenda, my consolation prize is the world class entertainment that is sure to follow.

A Wicked Gaggle Leads

It seems that every narrative produced by our politicians is designed to exclusively advance their own self interest.  In this instance, the tweets by the minority (soon to be majority) leader, the self interest involved is diminishing the authority of the President and disparaging his motives.  What a wicked gaggle we have placed in positions of power.

Occasional-Cortex and the Brain Cell Deficiency

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

The Lid has a good read on the poor state of our educational system (here).  It begins with:

Whenever Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez sits for an interview, people wonder if Boston University is going to demand she return her diploma because of her lack of brain cells giving the school a bad reputation. Her protest of Amazon locating one of its new headquarters in Queens, New York,  proves that getting elected to Congress didn’t spur a significant growth of cranial neurons.

Ouch, Life in Trumps Line of Fire

Trump slammed Macron on Tuesday via Twitter and included a note about Macron’s low approval ratings, France’s high unemployment rate and even French surrender during World War II, saying that the French were “learning German” by the time the U.S. intervened in the conflict.

Other globalist bent leaders breathed a sigh of relief that this time they weren’t in Trump’s sights.   German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau were present at the weekend’s commemoration, and have feuded with Trump before.  They sat silent as the Trumpster blasted Macron, happy to be out of the line of fire for the moment.

From the Ash Heap of History

The Wall Street Journal has published a compelling article on how and why Crooked Hillary will rise again to run in 2020.  It states:

The generation of Democrats who have been waiting to take over the party from the Clintons will be fuming that she is back and stealing their show. But they revealed themselves to be bungling amateurs in the Brett Kavanaugh nomination fight, with their laughable Spartacus moments. She will trounce them. Just as Mr. Trump cleared the field, Mrs. Clinton will take down rising Democratic stars like bowling pins. Mike Bloomberg will support her rather than run, and Joe Biden will never be able to take her on.

Full story and all of the ugly details here.

Shocked

No one really thought that we would get through an election cycle without Florida once again turning what should be a serious and thoughtful exercise of civic duty into an absolute circus.  Until our society begins to publicly shame wrongdoers and commit the criminals to long/painful prison terms, these slimy people will not only continue, but others will join in as well.

We now know why the county officials refused to remove dead and unqualified voters from their voter rolls, it gives them the opportunity to submit ballots in their name in the dark of night.

The Wookie and the Trumpster

The Wookie has a new book about to be released.  In it she whines about The Donald and how he could have placed her family at risk.  It reads:

“The whole [birther] thing was crazy and mean-spirited, of course, its underlying bigotry and xenophobia hardly concealed. But it was also dangerous, deliberately meant to stir up the wingnuts and kooks,” she writes. “What if someone with an unstable mind loaded a gun and drove to Washington? What if that person went looking for our girls? Donald Trump, with his loud and reckless innuendos, was putting my family’s safety at risk. And for this I’d never forgive him.”

A reporter made the mistake of asking Trump about her assertion.  His response is exactly what you would expect from the leader of the free world:

“Oh, Michelle Obama said that, I haven’t seen it, I guess she wrote a book, she got paid a lot of money to write a book, and they always insist you come up with controversial — well, I’ll give you a little controversy back.  I’ll never forgive him for what he did to our United States military by not funding it properly,”  Trump told reporters on the South Lawn. “It was depleted. And everything was old and tired,” the president continued. “And I came in and I had to fix it, and I’m in the process of spending tremendous amounts of money. So I’ll never forgive him for what he did to our military. I’ll never forgive him for what he did in many other ways, which I’ll talk to you about in the future. What he did, because she talked about safety. What he did to our military made this country very unsafe.”

Buckle-Up: It’s About to Go Over the Top

Drudge is carrying a story on Ginsburg that is sure to fan the flames on the left.  While the piece did not say whether she fell out of her chair or fell while she was standing, in either case she needs to retire and spend her remaining years on the cocktail circuit.  Trumps hard work at retaining the Senate looks like it will pay off in spades.

The left is going to go absolutely wild when Trump names a replacement.

The story:  Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, 85, fell in her office at the court and fractured three ribs, according to a release from the court Thursday.

“She went home, but after experiencing discomfort overnight, went to George Washington University Hospital early this morning,” the statement said. “Tests showed that she fractured three ribs on her left side and she was admitted for observation and treatment.”

Ginsburg’s health has been a matter of intense speculation in recent years. Ginsburg, the court’s oldest member, is one of the court’s four liberal justices. She is the second woman to ever serve.

It is not the first time that Ginsburg has fractured her ribs while on the court. In June 2012, Ginsburg fractured two ribs in a fall and did not disclose the incident to the public until months later. The court said at the time that despite the fracture, Ginsburg “did not skip a beat.”

And So It Begins: Nadler

Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) tweeted that House Democrats will “immediately” start investigating why President Trump removed Jeff Sessions as Attorney General on Wednesday, which could be the start of the Democrats’ impeachment efforts against Trump.

He also revealed that Democrats plan to “impeach Kavanaugh” and investigate President Donald Trump for alleged Russian collusion.

The first option, he explained, was to investigate the FBI for how they handled the uncorroborated claims from several women claiming Kavanaugh sexually assaulted them.

“They didn’t even do a half-ass job,” he said. “They didn’t interview 30 witnesses who said ‘Interview me! I’ve got a lot to say!’”

Plan B, is to go after Kavanaugh himself, because “there’s a real indication that Kavanaugh committed perjury.”  He claimed Kavanaugh perjured himself when someone asked him “at a committee hearing under oath” about an article in the Atlantic revealing the allegations of a third accuser, and he denied hearing about it.  Actually Nadler was referring to a claim that has has been debunked.

Nadler added that Democrats do not plan to carry out their investigation quietly:  “You can’t do it quietly because word will get out that the FBI or the committee is reaching out to witnesses,” he said.

The top House Democrat then moved on to the subject of investigating Trump, which he said would be branded as holding Trump “accountable” for his actions when in reality Democrats plan to go “all in” depending on the outcome of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation.

They Eat Their Own

Liberals aim for low hanging fruit, their own spawn.

Former ESPN host and current Atlantic writer Jemele Hill, slammed white women who she says torpedoed Beto O’Rourke in the Texas Senate race.

Along with many other left-wing, progressives, Hill jumped to Twitter to note that O’Rourke lost because many white women did not vote for him on November 6.

Attacks on white women is now common place among liberals.  You know that they will really eat their own, right?

Our Democracy

The ‘loyal opposition’ picked up the House last evening and so the coming two years holds the promise for significant political parody.  The one thing we all need more of is Auntie Maxine, et al.

The Donald posted a brilliant tweet.  My personal belief is that if he has to live with democrats in control of the House, he wants the loonies in that party to lead it.  Nothing will draw a sharper contrast for 2020 than having those characters showcased for the next two years.  His post below.

In Florida You Can’t Fix Stupid

Miami-Dade briefly ran out of ballots Sunday for some voters at its North Miami location, as malfunctioning printers upended logistics there during the final day of early voting and had people reporting wait times topping three hours.

As the sun set on the 14th day of early voting in the largely black neighborhood, more than 200 voters were in a line that snaked around half a block outside the North Miami library. “I would have stayed in line eight hours if I had to,” Joas Laurent, 37, said as he walked out of the library at 7:20 p.m., about three hours after he said he arrived.

The printers used to generate customized ballots for a voter’s precinct failed early in the afternoon, and poll workers eventually had to turn to pre-printed ballots to let people vote, said Christina White, the county’s elections supervisor. When those ran out for two of the surrounding precincts, the county had to rush in replacements from nearby polling places. She said it’s the only time she can recall Miami-Dade running out of ballots at a voting site.

The Enemy of the People

Zero Hedge carries a good article on the ‘Enemy of the People”  that I largely agree with.  It begins with:

When Trump calls the establishment media the enemies of the people, that’s because they – together with their passive NPC drones and active Antifa enforcers – are enemies, if by “the people” we mean the historic American nation. Trump’s sin is that he calls them out for what they are.

Trump didn’t cause today’s polarization, he only exacerbates it because he punches back. Good, may he continue to do so. Pining for a more well-mannered time in a country that belongs to another, long-gone era is futile.

American politics is no longer about a narrow range of governing styles or competing economic interests. It is tribal. Today’s “tribes” are defined in terms of affinity for or hostility to the founding American ethnos characterized by European, overwhelming British origin (a/k/a, “white”); Christian, mainly Protestant; and English-speaking, as augmented by members of other groups who have totally or partially assimilated to that ethnos or who at least identify with it.

Civil War from a New Vector

Breitbart is reporting that members of the New Black Panther Party are flexing muscle in Georgia.  They are wielding weapons and holding signs supporting Democrat gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams, a leftist who hopes to be the first black female governor in Georgia

Her republican opponent, Kemp, says “It’s no surprise that militant Black Panthers are armed and patrolling the streets of Georgia. The Black Panthers are a radical hate group with a racist and anti-semitic agenda. They are dangerous and encourage violence against our men and women in uniform. Stacey Abrams should immediately denounce the Black Panthers and their hateful record of racism. She should stand against and condemn their attempts to intimidate hardworking Georgia voters just days before the election.”

Now I don’t expect that Kemp has any interest in disrupting the NBPP in Georgia or anywhere else.  He’s just looking for another opportunity for a conservative sound bite that will squeeze another vote or two out of the electorate.

Abrams on the other hand has no interest in squelching her supporters, the more they rear their ugly head the more stature she gains.  The attitude displayed, and methods used, by the coming generation of politician/activist/victim will further polarize the nation.  Sides are being formed, lines are being drawn, and attitudes firmed in.  It’s not going to be pretty, but one thing is for sure…it’s going to be.

Fear and Loathing

Tomorrows election results will be the first real test of whether the coalition behind Trump’s “Make America Great Again” slogan can evolve from a diffuse, personality-driven following to an organized political force.  Should republicans succeed in holding both the house and the senate we can expect all hell to break loose.  I believe our poor little meme will move from being afraid to being militant (actually, more militant).

Not all of this insanity will be unequally distributed because of the sociological and  geographical differences in a now divided nation.  What happens tomorrow will hit with unequal force and unequal vectors. If things break as the meme people hope (and as now appears possible) the election could wash away the republican majorities in the House and boost democrats in gubernatorial and state legislative races. But because it will probably leave democrats short of a majority in the senate we can expect a nation, and society, in turmoil for at least the next two years.

What sucks most about this outcome is we can expect a continuing of the outrage saturating the news cycle and the inevitable decay of civility in the nation.  So be it, we cannot rollover because doing otherwise will outrage the Meme People.

Civil After the Election? I Think Not

Via Breitbart:  A video compiled by the Media Research Center, is not a compilation gathered from the darkest recesses of the Internet, is not cherry-picked from some obscure left-wing YouTube show… This is the establishment media, this is CNN, this is NBC News, this is the Washington Post, this is the New York Times, this is ABC News, and this is CBS attacking President Trump and his supporters as “Nazis,” “white supremacists,” a “virus,” and “unfit to be human.”

Squinty and Meat-Puppet

Actually, this explains a lot.

Squinty and Meat-Puppet’s lives revolve around three simple things. (1) Barely producing cognitive thoughts. They do nothing, they learn squat, they know diddly, they hate the conservatives – and, amazingly, they manage to avoid being thrown out of MSNBC. (2) Trying to score with celebrities – something they’ll never achieve. (3) Watching TV. Lots of TV. If something in the real world doesn’t relate to what they know from TV, it sucks. They especially enjoy “reviewing” the actions of Trump – or just commenting inanely on him. If the news contains Trump, conservative thought, or mentions an improving economy, it sucks to them.  Thus is their trudge through life.

Occasional-Cortex Strikes Again

New York Democratic candidate Alexandria Occasional-Cortex has sent out a bizarre email demanding Democrats push back against Republicans and Trump, who she referred to as “cold-hearted monsters.”

The very lengthy email promised that she would protect voters from “white supremacist forces” that she claims are terrorizing Americans.  It says:

“…we can defeat the brutal white supremacist forces of anti-Semitism, anti-immigrant nativism, and racism. We can hold accountable the cold-hearted monsters who have repeatedly attacked our health care.”

“We can send a message to the bigots and billionaires that this country belongs to all of us. We can win if we show up on November 6. We must end Republican control of Congress and begin to reclaim our nation,”

Later, she argued it’s time to push back against white supremacists, bigots, and Islamophobes. saying:

“Our chance to push back against white supremacist forces across our nation, against the xenophobes who are militarizing the border, against the bigots who seek to erase our transgender families, against the apologists for sexual assault and the Islamophobes who sow hate to divide us.”

Hope Burns Eternal: Leading Headline at Drudge

Vice President Pence maintained in an interview with Hill.TV on Friday that Republicans will keep control of the House in after midterm elections.

“I think we’re going to expand our majority in the United States Senate, and I think we’re going to hold our Republican majority in the House of Representatives,” Pence told Hill.TV’s Buck Sexton.

“But that being said, there is certainly common ground in areas that we can work that the president has laid out,” Pence added when asked about working with Democrats if they win the House, citing issues like trade and infrastructure.
